Charles (Chuck) A. Sted started at Ernst & Young in 1974 and by 1985 had become a partner where his focus was on audits of financial institutions. After leaving Ernst & Young in 1992, Mr. Sted served as CFO of Bank of Hawaii until 1998. In 1998, Mr. Sted joined Hawaii Pacific Health (HPH) as CFO and, later in 2004, became the company's president until his retirement in 2014. During his tenure at HPH, Mr. Sted negotiated the merger of three health systems to form HPH. The organization is nationally recognized for its leading use of the EPIC electronic medical record system to transform healthcare delivery. Mr. Sted served on the board of HPH and each of its 14 non-profit and for profit subsidiaries.
In 2013 Mr. Sted joined the board of APPMEDICINE, Inc. in Palo Alto, Sotera Wireless, Inc. in San Diego, Leap4Life Global, Inc. in Santa Ynez, and Advanced Plan for Health, LLC in Dallas. He is chairman of the audit committee of Sotera. He Served as Chairman of the Board of United Holdings, United Laundry Services and United Kona, one of the largest commercial laundries in the United States. He continues as an advisor to the CEO of United Laundry. Mr. Sted played a key community leadership role in the recent successful re-accreditation and five year funding of the University of Hawai’i Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institution. He serves as a director and treasurer of the Hawai’i Cancer Consortium. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hawaii Pacific University, Chairman of the Hawaii Business Roundtable and in numerous other chair and leadership roles in Hawai’i organizations. He chairs and has chaired compensation, audit, risk and governance/nominating committees.
Mr. Sted received his BS in Biology and MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana. He completed Director Training and Certification at the UCLA Anderson School in 2006.
